A belated thanks to Samantha Perahia and her team at  the British Film Commission for the opportunity to meet members of the Spanish Film Commission last Thursday. It was especially good to meet with representatives of some of the regional offices in person. 

It was also striking to compare notes on the social responsibility aspect of film and TV production which obviously crosses international borders! 

The round-robin discussion between representatives from the fields of mental health (Sarah McCaffrey from Solas Mind), sustainability (Louise Smith from Neptune Sustainability) and accessibility into the industry for the under represented (Dom Unsworth from Resource Productions) was of particular interest. 

As productions focus more on their approach to the recruitment and well being of their employees as well as growing issue of sustainability it was of real value to meet a group with such in-depth, specialist knowledge.
