My production background is based on a practical grass roots approach, working from floor-runner to producer. Spanning a career of 30 years I have practical on-set experience of scripted production in both the UK and abroad.

These have included the high end of high end drama projects across multiple territories or low budget shows with high creative ambitions. All have been challenging and satisfying in equal measure.

In addition to my list of production credits I also offer the combination of my commercial and academic backgrounds providing my experience as a seasoned media management professional.

“We’ve worked with Richard in the early stages of budgeting and scheduling on a number of projects, it has been a pleasure working with him, he has helped kick-start the early planning phase and enabled us to think more deeply about the projects ahead of going into pre-production”

COMPLIMENTARY SKILLS

I have always been interested in the development of a broad range of complementary skills to broaden my media production reach.

To this end I have extended my training and had commercial work experiences outside the traditional production path. Rather than moving from one project to another I have fitted in a first class (honours) BSc in Digital Media Management as a mature student before establishing a successful digital media production company to its ultimate acquisition and purchase.

With this range of skills and experiences I’m able to take a broader view towards the pressures and demands of a busy production environment.

“My grass roots ethos is reflected in the skills and experiences of our associates who have followed a similar approach to their work. Experienced professionals with a proven track record of high-end production who contribute to the added value we all bring to our range of services.”

AFFILIATIONS

I’ve been a member of The Production Guild of Great Britain for over ten years. Membership is open to those with an established track record in the industry and is a means of bringing like minded TV & film professionals together. This makes the Guild the leading membership organisation for those working in film and TV production.

I’ve also been a full member of BAFTA the world leading arts charity since 2017. As well as the world renowned BAFTA award programme across a range of different genres, BAFTA also supports the growth of creative talent in both the UK and abroad.

As well as BAFTA, I have also been invited to take part on jury panels for various craft categories with the Royal Television Society (RTS) Awards in 2016 and 2021.

More recently I have become a guest lecturer at the internationally renowned National Film and Television School (NFTS).
